Very nice place and wonderful to see the Orangutans in their natural habitat. The rangers are all incredibly friendly and attentive and answer all your questions brilliantly! Would definitely recommend this over Sepilok, in Sabah. More

The orangutans here have been reintroduced to a natural area near Kuching. There is a good chance of seeing some at the feeding area, depending on the season. If there is food available in the forest then they are less likely to come. Easy to find, and a reasonable entrance fee. More

Interesting re a chance to see some unique anilmals, but a very sad place with antiquated cages for orangutans and dreadful cages for the splendid Hornbill birds. Could do much better. More

Whatever you prefer to call it, rehabilitation centre or sanctuary, Semenggoh is a perfect little habitat for the endangered Orung-Utan that everyone who visits Sarawak should definately visiting. It is easily accessible from the city by direct public bus. It is best to visit in the morning to catch the 9am feeding time, so taking the 7 am bus will... More

Smaller and less commercial than Sepilok the reserve is only 3km from the main road and half an hour from Kuching City. We visited and were amazed by 7 orangutans, including "hot mama" and her baby. The layout enables a close experience and the first feeding platform is only 15-20 metres from the main area. There is a 10min walk... More

This "rehabilitation" center has been turned into a tourist attraction where the orang-outans are paraded twice a day as circus animals in front of large groups of tourists. All of the gardens and trails around the park have now been closed. You only have access to the small feeding area, where the rangers will brief you on what to do... More

We arrived to Semenggoh around 8.30am before the feeding time at 9am. There is a briefing by the ranger on what we should do and shouldnt do when the orang utan are nearby. We are lucky as Ritchie, the biggest orang utan is near and we are being adivice to be careful around him. The orang utan are roaming freely... More
