the islands in TAR marine park could have been more properly maintained. there were rubbish strewn and if you are not a good swimmer there's nothing much to be seen. The boat driver will just sent you to the jetty and basically you are on your own. there was no chorals near the shore so you would have to swim... More

We visited only two islands because of time constraint. Went to Pulau Sapi and Manukan. SKIP MANUKAN because all we saw were dead corals washed up on the shores... You had to swim like 10m out just to see the live ones and there were plenty of sea urchins. Sapi was very clean and there were more fishes and corals... More

Malaysia has a fantastic array of sea life and the sea adventures available. Normally the best of these sea adventures are the ones that are hard to get to (involving long transit times and multiple changes of transport). In the case of the T.A.R. Marine Park, it is a thorough disappointment. I would hazard a guess that's precisely because its... More

Like: Convenience, ease of access - 15 minutes away from Jesselton terminal in downtown KK and you're transported into a refreshing opportunity to snorkel and hold a picnic with family and friends. Picturesque beach and green waters. More

We visited Sapi Island, the beach is very clean and very good for snorkelling, the fishes just swim up to you. Next we visited Manukan Island. This is the bigger of the 2 and there are more facilities here including a hotel where you can stay over night. There are a few streches of beaches , some sandy and another... More

Our second day in KK saw us venture off to Manukan & Mamutik Islands.......on both islands we did an exploratory work and saw some amazing wildlife before parking ourselves on the beach and soaking up the atmosphere....the water was incredibly clear...the fish amazing....the sun brilliant...biggest decision all day was when to venture out of the water to hydrate! It was... More

Had a good day visiting two islands but the snorkling was very poor and seeing nappies and rubbish floating around was a little disturbing. More

Of these islands, Sapi is the most superior. The best of the islands to indulge in watersports and there a bbqs and bars. More

Just got back from a trip. The park has the potential to be amazing. However the coral is all damaged and the amount of rubbish on the beach and in the water is staggering. Maybe the hoards of staff who seem to sit about all day playing cards and not doing much else should pick up the rubbish up instead?... More
