A mansion that used to house the 7th wife of Cheong Fatt Tze. All explanation and story telling in full english. The visiting time are only 3 times a day. And the lady storyteller used 30minutes to talk about CFZ history and cold jokes. Not fun with the story telling time, but amazed at the building. They don't allow you... More

We were disappointed with the tour. Too much time spent by the guide clearly Indulging in her own esoteric interests. We wanted to know how the family lived and what the rooms were used for. We were fortunate recently to visit a nonyya baba mansion in Malacca where the guide conducted us through the rooms explaining their use and how... More

Good explanation given by the tour guide. It's fascinating to know in depth knowledge behind the structure of old Chinese building.

I don't understand how Frommer's gave it three stars. Most of the tour was standing in the entry hall listening to the guide lecture. There were a couple of interesting things but most of it was like going to a small and not so good museum. I did not find the mansion very impressive at all. It might be different... More

The building itself is impressive, however it is not possible to just turn up and walk around the buildings. One has to be part of a tour (which they run about 3 times a day). The tour itself is a mess - the crowds are too big, hard to control, and the tour guide was talking more about other things,... More

The tour is one-hour long. We stood in the entry hall for close to a half hour being lectured by Pat (Thurs morning tour guide.) Only a few rooms are open for viewing, and were not impressed. The group was large and most people were rolling their eyes in disgust. Skip this site.

Beautiful piece of heritage. The tour guide has the typical style and sass of their kin...gets a tad boring after a while though. But the house is lovely and definitely worth a visit

I like this house, the blue mansion of Cheong Fatt Tse. Unique house and somewhat eccentric. I joined this tour in the afternoon, i was litte bit late but fortunately i still can join. I paid RM12 for the ticket. The guide was friendly but quiet fast when she's explaining. I enjoyed the interior but not to took a picture... More

This is a mid to low level hotel that runs tours through it. Tour takes an hour and you get to see 4 rooms. All the original furniture with exception of few carved screen walls has been removed. There is a small room with some old family clothes and another with old typewriters and photos. Most of the tour consists... More

For the hour long tour you spend 25 mins in the entrance room. The guide spike quietly in heavily accented English so didn't catch most of the stories. Then you see maybe three more rooms. Disappointed as its meant to be magnificent.
