One of the best places on the island for shopping. Buy your chocolates here, for some strange reason they are much cheaper in Langkawi than in the rest of Malaysia!
It has a very nice set up with lake in the center, shops and eateries around. Many souvenir shops, currency exchange shop, counter to rent sag way and many more activities for tourist. To get to the Cable car ticket desk you have to pass a part of this complex.
I went to this place with my family after we finish the cable car tour. The place is amazing and interesting but it was over priced in everything. The elephant ride is 100 RM for 5 minutes. The 6D cinema is 30 RM per person for 6 minutes movie. But overall the place is good and worth the visit.
This village is on top of a mountain and we had to scooter all the way up. my gf and I were totally disappointed upon reaching, apart from some nice artificial scenery for photo taking, there were literally nothing to do over there. Souvenir shops are dull and restaurants are simply overpriced. I guess this place only attracts people due... More
This is a small nice place for a walk with your loved ones. Must do : feed the fish in the pond and you can even touch them! There is a little "Korean-themed" garden beside the lake for photographs, There is a signage on Tiger Gallery but the entrance was closed.
The Oriental Village is the gateway for the Langkawi Cable Car. To reach the cable car you must go through the village. Entry to the village is free. The village offers a wide selection of shops (clothing and gifts), cafes and kids attractions/rides. Its a good place to spend a couple hours just browsing. There isn't a lot of shade... More
This place is just gorgeous - lots of shops and plenty of drinks / food (just tourist food) toilets are available at a small cost but they are western toilets so it's worth paying. The village is very pretty and there are lots of foot bridges and fish. I nice spot to rest tired legs and take the time to... More
Pros: -There are numerous restaurants, souvenir shops, paddle boats on a lake containing fish, horse & cart rides, Segway rides and an amphibious 45 minute Duck-tour. I saw elephant rides on the village map, but didn't see any elephants. Cons: -Toilet = RM0.30. Notes: -Take a hat and sunscreen in the daytime.
Although we reached around 3 pm during the Ramadan days, we had loads of fun. Don't miss out on Segway ride up into the jungle, elephant safari, coffee at the coffe shop sitting beside the Malaysian tiger(in a glass cage). We didn't go on the cable car as we had already done in Jenting Highlands.
