you can see Thailand on a good day, it's worth the drive up. The road is quite ok and no trouble to drive
The drive up to Gunung Raya is truly beautiful, I saw monkeys crossing the road and some amazing birds in the trees. It is possible to pull over and watch all this as you go up to Gunung Raya. At the very top you can also see the wonderful views. However, I then paid 10 ringgits to go up the... More
I actually found this by accident while driving around the island. The road up is long, and very rough in parts and quite steep. When you get to the too I'm told the. Utilising used to be a resort, now it just looks like a prison but the views are spectacular. It's in the middle of nowhere but worth the... More
A nice and long drive up. Have a chance to see wild animals eg dusky leaf monkey. The view is nice on the top. Did not take the lift as I think not much difference. The price of taking the lift is RM10.
The view from the top is good but everything up there is closed so please visit the toilets before you make the long drive up. You will be better served with the views from the various lookout points along the way up.
It was really a long drive up. Not to mention the winding roads. The peak was quite a view. The cloud move quite fast up there. The air was cool and relaxing. Though there is no proper public area for tourist to sit and hang around. There is a hotel though which I think they will charge for services.
We hired a car for the day and found this place almost by accident, it was marked on the maps, but not really advertised. It was a very long drive up a windy road, once we had spotted the building, we headed for it, but there were signs telling you no admittance and private property, which was a bit off... More
I was initially put off from driving up Gunung Raya by the comments made by others in tripadvisor. When I did drive all the way up, it was not as bad as I had thought. The drive up Gunung Jerai in Kedah is worse. Even worst is the trip up Maxwell Hill in Perak. You are not even allowed to... More
I can't find the Book Village as a Langkawi attraction on Trip Advisor -- may be because it has stopped functioning as such. But even though the buildings used to exhibit and sell books are now empty, the village's location in the lush rainforest of Lubuk Semilang is itself worth a visit and is favourite weekend picnic site for locals....
