The design and statues in this temple is really something to look at. It really has that very old feel. My friend burned some incense to ward of some bad spirits as she was not feeling well. She is Chinese so she knew what to do.

this the first temple i have ever seen with high wall in front, that makes us hard to see the unique and ancient so called exterior. the temple is guarded by some less friendly officers who seem to be ready to bark to any violation that you might do. pretty much ..there is nothing interesting to see in the temple,...

To the local Johorean, we seldom visit this over 100 years temple on normal day. It is at its most interesting state on 2 occasions - 1) the night before 1st day of Chinese New Year and 2) 20th to 23rd of Chinese New Year period.

Again there is not much to see of culture in Jb so this was a small side trip. Looks like other temple, and find more beautiful temple other places in Malaysia

Dun know how to describe, cos u will of cos feel surprisingly small this temple is, but if u have the chance to come to the parade at every 21 of first month in Chinese calendar, then u can understand what Johoe Old Chinese Temple means for every Chinese Johorean.
Im coming here since I'm 17years old...a very good place for heart and release tension... What you dunno how to do, you can pray here... :)
Popped over cos it was just next to my hotel (Puteri Pacific) and they were having a major festival then. Very crowded, very lively, very colourful, very exciting to watch. The temple itself is also cool as it is a functioning real place of worship used by locals, with authentic local sights (temple decor, local worshippers), sounds (prayers, chants) and...

Very small and non-picturesque on the outside. We were lucky, though, as it was Chinese New Year, so there were many people around, and they were very helpful and willing to explain things to us.
