First the road was an obstacle course with giant potholes. We had to bribe a construction wotker to move equipment so we could continue on up. the lake was low so not as pretty as the pictures.

The blue / green of the lake with high mountains around MUST be seen if you visit Almaty. It will take at least one hour 1/2 from the city centre, and it is really worth it.

Great view and fresh air. If you walk by foot up in the mountain and get tired you have your best reward in the end of trip!

This is just amazing. High hills lake on the level of 2000 m above the sea. different and really beautiful in different seasons.
There is not too far to the space station (observatory) where you can ask to look to the sky thru 1.8m telescope during the night.
