We walked from Fethiye, over the mountain to Kayakoy then got the local bus back. The walk took around 5 hours and we saw lots of wild tortoises on the way. The views over Fethiye were superb. A taste of the real Turkey. A meal by the ruins at night is magic.The walk to the top is quite hard on the legs and hot but so worth it.Buy a guide book before you go to really appreciate the history.

Do not leave the area without a visit to Kaya. It is a fantastic bit of newer history to be admired.

It is a quiet place with its old greek houses from 19 - 20 centuries.It is also called ghost town too. There is church up the hill. Do not skip that.
