Went last year before I read 'Birds without Wings'. Had to go back this year as the novel made it come to life even more. More

A taste of the real Turkey. A meal by the ruins at night is magic. The walk to the top is quite hard on the legs and hot but so worth it.Buy a guide book before you go to really appreciate the history. More

It was quite a contrast to the yacht harbor scene when we made a short side trip to Kaya village. The weather turned melancholy, and somehow that was the right mood for our visit to Kaya village, which the Turks call Kayaköy. It is the largest ghost town in Turkey, abandoned by the Greeks who lived here at the time... More

Worth the bus trip and climb through this eerie place which reminds us how evil we can be to others if they are different to us! More
