Tip - Come in the back way. Much flatter walk and easier to walk. Lots to see without the long walk.

It really would be better to visit this place very early in the morning before other tourists arrive. When I was there, it was getting crowded very quickly and made it difficult to take good pictures.

If you have read the book of Acts, you will know Ephesus played a key role in the spread of Christianity. The great apostles: John, Paul, Peter, Apollos, Timothy, etc all stayed here teaching and preaching. Lots to see in the ruins: theatre, library, shops, main street, etc. The riot that ended in the theatre comes alive when you walk... More

This was such a valuable and educational experience touring the ruins of Ephesus. I would highly recommend the tour company, About Ephesus. Well worth the 2 min jaunt up the steep and varied stairs. It's cool to have a friend stand at the top of the stands while you speak their name - they can hear you! Such a cool piece of history to witness.

Mind blowing that an amphitheater for 25,000 people could have been built in 300 BC! They give you plenty of space to climb around.

The acoustics are wonderful and the theatre is in wonderful shape. It is definitely something to see. If you have any interest in... More

Amazing acoustics. People conversing in the stage area could be heard clearly to the top of the theater.
