The museum is small and very well organized. They have free audio programs in multiple languages with informative and interesting narratives about the Death Railway and Hellfire Pass. There is a beautiful contemplation point at the museum with an incredible view of the valley. You can walk down a lengthy stair case to the former railway site and walk up... More

I've been to the museum before and know a little of the history. In conveying the history it does an "academic" sort of job sticking with facts (as it should). But in my view could have been more truthful about the barbarity of the Japanese and Korean guards as a reminder to never allow this sort of inhumanity to ever take... More

It was 3:15am and there must have been at least 2 thousand present on the day. The cutting was lined with bamboo kerosene torches. The silence was eerie and the air was heavy. The service was a profound experience. For those that aren't that good on their legs - the steps back up are a killer. More

This is an excellent museum, which depicts the horrors of the Allied prisoners and Asian labourers as they constructed the Thai-Burma railway in 1942-3. A very moving experience, and the200 Baht spent on the Audio guide was invaluable. More

An extremely well-done small museum installtion, and the walk is quite sobering. The audio is highly recommended - even for those of you who might not normally do audio. I found the whole experience quite sobering, and at the same time inspiring. The walk itself is enjoyable even for those who might not be all that interested in war history,... More

Had one night in Kanchananuri to take in hell fire pass, Nam Tok train, bridge on the river Kwai and the waterfall national park. We took a dodgy, slow, open ute taxi from Kanchanaburi to Hellfire pass. It took us well over an hour and left us short of time to catch the train from Nam Tok to the bridge.... More

I was actually really surprised about how great the museum was. The highlight here isn't so much the museum itself, but more going down Hellfire Pass and listening to the stories from war veterans via the audio equipment that they rent out for free. It makes the experience 10 times better so make sure you get it! I really recommend... More

For me it was a very interesting and quite moving place to visit. We followed the length of the railway on a motorbike trying to follow the route of the railway as much as possible. It is well set out and well looked after. More
