We liked the location of the temple, high up in a valley, and found the storage buildings impressive. Otherwise the temple is a fairly normal large temple, nothing outstanding if you have seen some of the nicer temples in Korea or Japan. I was impressed by this temple and also by the Tripitaka scriptures on wooden blocks. Deservedly included in UNESCOs World Heritage Sites. I took the bus from Daegu. To those of us from Europe it may come as a shock to find the monks at Haeinsa Temple prepared to print a page for you from printing blocks of sacred script carved in the 12th century.
