I liked all of the information about the maintenance of the pine bush, reading about how Save the Pine Bush made the preserve happen. I disliked the part where they don't explain that the discovery center looks like a bank because it used to be a SEFCU bank that was illegally built on pine bush land. When SEFCU needed to... More

There are a number of places to park and then walk into the Pine Bush. It's a larger area than most people realize. It's a great place in the winter for cross country skiing, and for short nature walks in other seasons. Visitor's center has lots of good information. Watch out for ticks! But that's a risk doing any walking... More

It snowed the day before I went to the preserve. Ventured on one of the 2.5 mile trails. The crisp air, smell of pine, slight chill in the air was invorigating. Nice way to spend a few hours. More

Pine bush preserve is relatively small, there is small "museum" that you can learn the preserve's animals, plants, there are also workshops there, check before you go. Last time, I did a mushroom group, which I really enjoyed. There is also a trail, spend half an hour hiking there would give me more info on the plants there. Nice staff,... More

The Pinebush Preserve is the product of 40 years of hard work by a widely outnumbered group of local environmentalists who saved hundres of acres of pristine aquifers and 10,000 year old sand dunes and pine barrens from development. Unfortunately, the acres preserved only a small fraction of the several thousands of original wildlands that existed 50 years ago, and... More
