We decided to spend the rainy morning at this museum. Since we can't go sightseeing in Ubud town because of the rain, this museum seemed to be a very good choice. And we were right. The museum compound itself is very huge. It has 2 big Balinese style houses and they have Balinese arts through the century, from paintings to... More

Let me start by saying that I am not much into art. At all. But since the house I was staying at (visiting family) was literally next door to the ARMA I figured I had to go and I don't regret a single second of my visit. The paintings are far from what I was used to seeing. Took my... More

the place is super huuuuuugeeeee. the dance performance is held at 7.30 pm every night and we managed to catch the pendet and legong dance. too bad we didn't have time to visit during the day. the cafe also serves nice, extravagant cuisine. i tried the traditional Balinese nasi campur; it is quite big and filling with sate, tuna sambal... There isn't a lot to do in Ubud unless you want to visit 20 different spas, and while this museum wouldn't win any prizes elsewhere, it's worth visiting. In the evening, they present Balinese dance, which was a highlight for us. Unless you don't like gamelan music, in which case give it a miss. More

The collection is great. And even if you're not into arts (paintings and sculptures), the landscape is so nice you can just bring a book and read there. More

We really enjoyed the ARMA museum and the first rate evening dance performance at this important Ubud cultural center. We also enjoyed meeting and talking to Agung Rai who was gardening when we arrived. The restaurant was lovely and peaceful with above average food and service. If you are in Ubud, this should be on your list. It is close... More

Great place to visit when you are in Ubud. Artists works are in display. Central place for arts and culture. Definitely stop by and try their lunch at the restaurant. Pleasant, peaceful. Fun to check out. More

As with many of the museums and galleries in Ubud, the buildings and gardens are worth visiting almost as much as the exhibits. The paintings are nicely presented and we found there were enough to occupy us for an hour or two. The entry fee includes a complementary drink in the cafe which is in a nice setting in the... More

We've discovered this museum our first night in Ubud due to the Barong dance performance, held in it's grounds. The performance was shortened due to the tropical rain and we went to ARMA Cafe adjacent to the museum to wait for the taxi. Next day we went to the museum proper and enjoyed it very much because it's situated in... More

This museum has some interesting modern pieces from known Balinese artists and western artists with a relationship with Bali. The location is lovely and you can have a stroll around the fabulous looking resort as well. The warung kopi that is part of the museum serves good coffee in a luxury and relaxed environment. The cake we tried was delicious.... More
