Went all the way up, but retuned without stepping out due to no space to park the car. Absolutely no traffic management and very very bad road. Never go there on your own car.

When we were told that it was the highest place in southern india, we were very excited but as luck would have had it. The road leading up to the peak is pathetic. There was an huge traffic jam and and the road is too narrow. Those in small cars especially watch out.
Parking space too is limited. Now for...

Terribly disappointed. You can get better views of the valley on the way down to Mettupalayam from Ooty than from Doddabetta peak. But you just have to do Doddabetta peak because of the history and having studied about it in the Geography classes in your 6th or 7th standard.
Avoid in april and may as people throng the place like anything.. cant get a peek of the view as people are busy clicking photos and cover the entire area...
this tourist attraction is promoted as the highest peak in south india. though it was a beautiful place there was nothing extraordinary. the approach could be better with better management by the government. it is advisable to reach there before 9 am to avoid the massive traffic jams and crowds.
View from the peak is good. The roads are terrible. Small cars will hit the floor very often. Parking space is very limited, will have to struggle to find space especially during peak season.
It seemed like all the people from the states of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala had come to the peak. There was a fight for parking and had to park halfway downhill and walk all the way up. Couldn't enjoy any views coz everyone was pushing you. Didnt take any snaps coz inwas busy taking care of my pockets and...

Beautiful views and good tribal food! Very clean tourist location. Relax, let go. Talk to the Indian/local tourists - they want pictures with you! Skip the market, just have some beans, buy some tea and enjoy! While you are in Ooty, book a trek through the tea plantations and eat at an authentic tribal restaurant - this is India. Let...

The view this place offers is good but the roads leading uphill are bad and moving on is a very slow process. No parking attenders, you park where you want, taxis have hoarded the main parking area and are not obliging to other private cars. Make sure you carry an umbrella to avoid getting rain lashed.
Here all those who come to Ootty will go,especially we went while the Annual Horticulture Flower show was on in full season summers. If low seaon one can enjoy a binocular view take One,of the Nilgiris all around this vantage height, that too from a tower built for that.
