There is nothing exciting about this place and if you go there make sure you have vehicle as in the evening your travel options back to city are limited, if you are interested in photography make sure you visit there in the evening the sunset is pretty good over here and adds to the colours of Chatri

Vyas Chhatari is a beautiful place to go at sunset. Although the scenery has slightly been spoiled by wind turbines in recent years it is still very much worth a visit. Most importantly, I would recommend going in the afternoon as you will have more chance of meeting Rahul. Rahul is by far the friendliest person we met in Jaisalmer... More

I went to this place in the late afternoon. Light is beautiful at that time of the day, giving the place almost a golden colour. Sunset was not that special. Place is a bit outside tiwn, but still easy to reach.

The memorials themselves are slightly interesting--more interesting is the location just on the edge of the old city on a hill with a beautiful view to the west and to the east. Sort of a photographer's delight. There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view too.

This place is where cenotaphs are made for the Brahmins. Since it is situated on a small hillock you get open to desert view towards West which is why this is an excellent place for enjoying sunsets.

It is after all a memorial for the Vyas community, but the chhatris(umbrella shaped structures) are a delight. It is said that every grandson before his marriage, build the memorial of his grandfather by constructing a chhatri. Two distinct architectural styles-Hindu and Islamic are visible.Young boys are available to offer their services as guides and are recommended.
