Its really amazing... 1hr 30 mins journey to Malpe beach from Managalore (Via Udupi) in cab. Its 60 km. From Malpe to St. Mary's Island is 20 mins journey on boat. It will cost Rs. 150/- per head on shared boat. They will give you 1 hour in the Island to roam around. Its a small Island surrounded by Arabian... More

liked : the beach and cool water to play around. disliked: the untidiness of visitors throwing litter alround. there are no dustbins/ garbage area so you see plenty of plastic bottles/ cans etc floating around More

I think this place is so much hyped, there is nothing so great about this place. The place is still under development. As of now, no management is there. Garbage was lying here and there. The ferry people have their own standard rates, nobody is there to monitor them. They take full amount while going to island and while in... More

The sea was rough when we travelled to St. Mary's Islands. We were given just one hour deadline by the boatsmen to come back. The time was hardly sufficient to explore this beautiful tiny place. There was litter all around... our people would never learn probably. More

We took a 15minute ferry ride from the Malpe Jetty to St.Mary's Isle. It was small island (in terms of other islands) and I guess one can cover the whole are with 20 mins of walking. The island had a small coconut grove and the main attraction being the basalt rock formations which look like grey breadsticks rising out of... More

It's a good trip through Udupi harbor. Getting to the island is kind of scary. They take near to the island in a big boat and then transfer you to a smaller boats as the big ship can't dock in the shallow waters around the island. The small boats get really overcrowded. The transfer in the middle of the sea.... More

This is a real unique spot for nature lovers and people who like islands / water bodies. This is perhaps one of the only places in the country where you will feel that you are on an isolated European beach, clean waters with shell beds where you can actually see your feet in knee deep water. Take the boats with... More

We planned for a visit in September and had to return disappointed .There is no boat service to the island during this time due to high tides and heavy rain fall . Hence be advised to choose the right time for a visit to this beautiful island ! More
