Though incomparable to the more famous Tipu Sultan’s palace at Mysore, this is one of the relatively unknown monuments of Bangalore. Visit this palace along with the ruins of the fort nearby. Also nearby are a temple and a mosque. « less

I visited Tipu Sultan Fort and Palace on my way back from Coorg to Bangalore. The management is absolutely stupid and pathetic. While purchasing the entry tickets I showed my PAN card as an identification, the man behind the counter threw it back to me saying is not a valid INDIAN id and even foreign nationals had PAN cards and... This was one of Tipu Sultan's Palace, albeit nothing compared to the one in Srirangapatna closer to Mysore. Unlike that palace here you are, however, allowed to take pictures. You can explore both floors of the palace, the lower of which contains an exhibit on Tipu Sultan's life and hatred of the British. More

Tipu was a very interesting character and it was interesting to see his summer palace in Bangalore and to imagine it as it must have been in Tipu's time. There is an interesting exhibition in one of the ground floor rooms giving an amusing perspective on Tipu's battles with his British enemies, and the gardens are quite attractive. Tip: Don't... More

The palace is poorly maintained and there is hardly anything worth visiting in the palace. This palace can't be even compared with the Mysore Maharaja's palace. Proper maintenance and additional exhibitions can make this a good tourist spot. More

It is not much of a palace, as per say. A monument will be a more right description. There is nothing much to see here. Except the old styled architecture and adornments in the building. Can spend hardly one hour here. Anyway, it is a small getaway from the city. More

Though its very much a much recommended place to visit in bangalore on almost every travel guide, its actually nothing much. I went in paying 100 indian rupees(for foreigners and 5 rupees for indian citizens) for about half an hour then i left. There's a little museum (and it is really LITTLE) with a few portraits and history notes describing... More

Not much to see here at all. It's not a fort at all as the name suggests. I am sure it wasn't more than a summer retreat for Tipu Sultan (though why he built it in Bangalore and not in the hills beats me, maybe Bangalore was a lot more cooler then, maybe his writ didn't run in the hills). I'd... More
