An ancient water bed, converted to Shiva Temple & later, slowly a huge commercial complex comes up in front of the temple, masking the statue of Lord Shiva.Thats the history of this temple & unfortunately,it is an extreme zone of commercial exploitation of devotees under various pretexts. All hype during Shivaratri & also other festivals are all a ploy for commercial exploitation. Incase... More

if you wish to pray or meet God, goto a temple, this place is purely meant for making money, every entry to something requires a ticket, to enter a cave you need another ticket.

My guide tells me that the founder of this temple is a succesful business man who has "turned his back" on business to focus on this religious enterprise. Now it came out during my conversation that said businessman still owns and rents out the building in front. So not sure how much he has turned back from business but that's... More

This is the best place of attraction, you will not feel any vibes here.. in the entrance they will give 100 rupees ticket(incase of 170 rupees its offer like that they will say). If any one new to Bangalore can visit here like a traveller.. The statue is Gud and location is nice..

This is a place to rip money out of your pocket. You will not at all feel that you are in temple. You,ll not feel any good vibes there. You'll feel like you have come to some science exhibition using GOD to make money. I felt really bad after seeing this and wonder what Man can do to make money.... More

The statue of lord shiva is quite large and very beautifully made. they also have a smaller ganesha statue. Rest of it is a commercial touristy place, with caves and all the mumbo-jumbo associated with religious practices in India. A 150Rs pass will give you access to all the so called religious activities, but feels more like a religious amusement... More

This is undoubtedly the best place of attraction. The whole ambience is very peaceful and full of spirituality.Huge idol of Shiva and Ganesha are awesome and also there is virtual visit of Jyotirlingas which is very beautiful.Queue management is very good but we get the valet parking also.

This is one of the good place, I would prefer to visit but it has become completely commercial. For every small thing, you need to churn out CASH. If you don't you are not allowed to go further and the main attraction of Lord Shiva Statue will be missed out.

It's on the regular tour circuit, and if you don't mind lining up to see a Disneyesque version of a temple, then go for it. But really, there are better things to endure Bangalore traffic to see and experience.

I have been in Bangalore for 5 years now and always wondered about the Shiva Temple. The temple is underneath / behind the Total Mall on Old Airport Road. Once you go in, there are long lines for "darshan" (to offer prayers). There is a hint of commercialisation around you, but then again, even the God's home requires maintenance. Overall... More
