Manasbal is a lost lake in a way. It is a a huge lake, part of the Wullar - Manasbal catchement water body, about 2 hours away from the famous Dal lake of Srinager, in an area that is least visited and nearly forgotten except as the the fringe of the route for the Amarnath Yatra. At some point of... More

We did shikara ride in Nagin lake (charges 500 Rs per hour), Dal lake (600 Rs per hour) but we did not get the feeling which we got at Manasbal lake (300 Rs for 45 mins). The reason is the place here water is clean, place is quiet and picturesque. Even the garden is also very nice to take rest... More

Manasbal Lake is similar to Dal Lake and natural beauty is excellent. However, unlike Dal lake, this is not maintained well and tourist inflow is very poor. There is a garden at the entrance and shikaras are available for going around the lake. However, if you like a quiet place and watch the lake and surrounding natural beauties, you can... More

Not very impressive, badmly maintained, very far . Just like any resort/ Nainital lake. Wular lake is very hard to locate...oad goes down interiors of villages, and risky to travel in evening. The lake is supposed to be Asia's largest fresh water lake, as mentioned in their JKTDC Catalogue -But the lake doesnt even exit! It has almost disappeared,....and they... More

I was not planning to go there. But my localite friend told me i must go there. When i reached i was taken aback by the view. The lake is very calm. Water is warm, as it comes from underneath lake. Water is crystal clear and you can see almost till lake's bottom. Take a shikara ride and look into... More

Manasbal Lake is similar to Dal Lake and natural beauty is excellent. However, unlike Dal lake, this is not maintained well and tourist inflow is very poor. There is a garden at the entrance and shikaras are available for going around the lake, but probably due to off-season (November) neither garden was in good shape nor were any tourists around.... A beautiful lake about 1 Hr. journey from Dal Lake, Srinagar. On the way to Manasbal lake, the scenery is awesome. A beautiful garden around the lake. One can have a Shikara ride.

The place is about an hours drive from Srinagar and the best thing abot is is that it is totally non-commercialised. Nature at its best. Do take a shikara ride in the lake and soak in the sun ( if the weather is cooperating).
