A delight to visit without throngs of people, in fact just us and the caretaker. Beautiful and secluded with the impact of some of the more popular sites. A photographer could spend the entire day there with the light constantly changing the underground experience.

Good thing was we did not have to travel much from Sabarmati Ashram. It is near to Sardar Vallabh bhai Patel Memorial too. It is a step well next to the masjid(beautifully carved) constructed by Baba Harir. worth a visit.

I simply love the setting of this otherwise non-descript step well in the eastern part of Ahmedabad. Have been to this place numerous times. I enjoy sitting inside the step well. Have measured drawn some parts of the well. There is a mosque behind, worth a visit. Also visit the Railway yard canteen just 50 m
