When reading through the previous 17 reviews, I wondered which Plateau and where, some of the reviewers had visited. Plateau is functionally very efficient as the economic capital, with its major hotels and financial institutions, but once 18h00 has arrived, it is virtually dead, apart from a few expensive restaurants, and the hotels. Plateau is to Abidjan as "The City"... More

The cathedral is a must - for the good view (and ask to go to the very top... it's possible, even though they don't have lights in their dark, narrow stairs) The plateau - I guess you can find good shopping here - but it's crowded, less fresh air and a bit difficult to find your way around. Maybe I... More

It is a great place to visit, I was staying with friends and we loved the shoping and le plateau is really the CBD with lots of interesting shops and very lively atmosphere. We headed out of town and a few occasions and were stopped by police on one way roads, we had to pay money to get past and... More

Plateau is the "city centre" of ABJ with lots of traffic at daytime. Beware of the many "one-way" roads! Police is waiting for your money! However for shopping I prefer "Zone 4" with a bigger choice of supermarkets, boutiques, shops, bars n restaurants!

22 years have gone by and Plateau looked beautiful as before. We went back to see how Abidjan is surviving all these crisis and went back to the country 22 years later. Plateau remained the same actually. There is no more place to grow and almost same buildings are still standing tall. Both the bridges over the lagoons give a... More

I am living in Ivory Coast since December 2010 and since my arrival, I was impressed by Plateau, particularly during night time. Considering the fact that the Country is still suffering for the post electoral crises, many efforts have been taken to renovate Abidjan. Plateau is reachable by the airport through two bridges that cross the lagoon and the area... More

Abidjan is a pleasant surprise. Despitethe troubles over the last 15 years, you can see this was once a well organized place with gleaming office buildings. In order to get people in a hapy mood and take their mind of the recent troubles they have invested heavily in having the Portuguse put up fantastic Christmas street lighting--people walk the streets...
