Playa Blanca can only be reached by boat. Price is okay @ about $55 US for two people. This includes the Aguarium. Beer only at the beach (no cocktails) and ther food very expensive compared to in town. You are "assigned" a guide who goes with you and serves as your waiter/waitress. She sat with us until we essentially told... More

Since we spent much of our time in Colombia visiting historical sites and others of interest to tourists, we did want to set aside some for simply relaxing at the beach and swimming. Playa Blanca was the perfect spot to relax. More

This is the only beach we visited on our short trip to Cartagena. I read recommendations for other beaches that may indeed be superior, but we picked Playa Blanca since we didnt have a lot of time and it seemed simplest to get to. Of course its so easy to get to because so many tourists go there, which has... More

The water is crystal clear and only waste deep 100 meters in in many places. The coastline is stunning with the odd palm tree inches from the water. However, dont walk 100 meters in the other direction as just behind the 'restaraunts' (crumby food) there are a few swamps overflowing with garbage. Very depressing. There are MANY boats that leave... More

Nice beach hidden in a cove, more secluded than Taganga.Best to climb over the hills on the way and beyond that for the views. If you are bored, and want to see more activity,go to Rodadero, their mini Miami, south of Santa Marta, and its cheap by local bus from downtown. More

I can only recommend Playa Blanca if you needed to go to a beach and you were only staying in Cartagena for a day. I was only there for a day trip and it was crowded and there was only very expensive not good food. There were hammocks and cabanas to rent and I heard that it is very peaceful... More

A beautiful walk into the region of the park, past fisherman with the daily catch...along a trail passing by locals sitting by their huts taking a siesta. One word of caution, get there early and if you can take a snorkel tour More

The best beach if you are sleeping in Cartagena. Fully packed with tourists but it is very long so if you walk a bit you can still find a less crowded spot. Sand is very beautiful, water is blue, decently clean and warm but not transparent at all. Overall nothing phantastic but a good place where to take a day... More
