It is always a delight to stroll the boardwalk in Asbury Park. Plenty of good restaurants and great people watching!
Unfortunately I grew up in this area so I remember what the boardwalk used to be. It was affordable for everyone. Even though I am happy that they fixed some of it up, it's a lot of high end restaurants and expensive stores. It's not a "real" boardwalk with the rides and some a variety of places to eat anymore.... More
Not the boardwalk of my childhood, teeming with rides and attractions, Asbury Park is now a good destination for a pleasant walk. There are usually lots of people around so it is fun for people- watching, there are entertainers performing, and a variety of places to eat and drink, although most are pricey. There are a few shops with shore-... More
Dined at Tim McCloone's Supper Club on the boardwalk. Lovely view of the ocean, great food and service. Quiet crowd, relaxing ambiance! Great day trip to the NJ shore, easily reached from greater Philadelphia area!
There are overpriced restaurants, a couple of bars, some ok shops, a mix of people, of course there's Springsteen lore, and a kiddy splash park. I'm glad I went, but it's just ok.
Small clean boardwalk but not much to do unless you want to sit & enjoy the fresh ocean breeze. The beach is sandy & clean but the surrounding buildings are run down & do no justice to the grandeur of how they must have looked years ago. I was a little disappointed, but give it the benefit of the doubt... More
I was at the beach, and it was so nice and clean, plenty of parking spaces, good restaurants. The town still need some repairs after Sandy, but they're still standing and that's important. Love it!!!
Love the vibe down on the Asbury Boardwalk. Its not huge but there are very cool stores - nice things to nosh as well when you need a little something after being on the beach for a few hours. All kinds of folks here all commingling together with zero issues - love the live and let live philosophy here. the... More
Walked the boardwalk today. Beach was clean looked very inviting lots of space. Parking lots were almost empty. Great beach fries. Felt safe, police were present, lots of families. The Stone Pony was setting up for a concert. Best kept secret on the shore.
It is a great Jersey Boardwalk with interesting things to do and see. Some great restaurants!! And the beach is just beautiful. We were surprised how well it withstood Sandy........... Can't wait to go back!
