On the other side of the main road is this large Lamasery which is worth a visit if only to see the candle-power in one of the back prayer rooms. My (sneakily taken) photo doesn't begin to capture the dichotomous senses of tranquility and power present in that high-ceilinged chamber, but trust me when I say there was certain magic...
