If you only have time in Fuzhou to see one place, this is it. To visit the pedestrianized network of restored old streets and alleys easily takes a few hours to half a day. It is quieter at night as many of the houses and galleries would have closed for the day but it is nice to see the lights... More

The San Fang Qi Xiang is wonderful! It is a bunch of restored (and rebuilt) old style buildings. The main street has shopping, and is hopping from mid-day to nighttime. The side alleys are better during the day, as the residences, gardens, and museums close up around 5/6pm. The residences are amazing! We only went through a couple, and were... More

This is a pleasant, reconstructed area which gets you away from the heavy traffic in the surrounding city. The museums/houses are worth going in for a look around. The shops are over-priced as in all tourist areas, but they're fun for a bit of window shopping. The traditional Chinese Starbucks made me smile. More

I am glad that the area has been preserved and there is a good little museum that chronicles the history of the area. The feeling though is that instead of preserving the area, they have rebuilt it to look like new. Its worth a look, just dont expect to see much real history. More

Better than average but not yet very good. It is still new, some building are not yet rennovated. But the main street was full of fun shops and there were enough exibitions to make a good tour. The night scene is more fun! More

This pedestrian only street lies at the heart of Fuzhou's commercial centre, located just off Dong Jie, opposite Da Ming Lu. The area is now a conservation area due to it's unique combination of some of the best preserved Min style architectural buildings and it's historical link with some of Fuzhou's renowned scholars from years gone by. Until its restoration... More
