Insightful seeing people at work and learning about the process from start to finish. A bit confusing at 1st if you do it without a guide to determine where to start and go from there

Bit further out of Siem Reap. Well worth a visit - the tour was very informative and we especially enjoyed seeing how complicated make silk by hand is. We saw the silk worms and then the cocoons, followed by the retrieval of the two qualities of silk thread.
The shop was very well presented and nice and cool. However we...

Hello again,
Thank you for posting reviews on both Angkor Silk Farm and Artisans Angkor.
We are pleased to know you have found the tour very informative and that the silk-making process has no secret for you anymore!
We are sorry though our sales person, who certainly wanted to be helpful, appeared to be a bit too clingy. Thank you...

I learned how the silk is made, that's something! Free tour but the products are quite expensive!! It is a good experience!
Dear Ali,
You are right, learning can be a fun experience as well ! Pleased to know you liked it !
As you have noticed, producing silk fabrics of high-quality is a time-consuming process, which - with the social policy and actions undertaken by the enterprise -define our prices at the end.
Thank you again for your positive review,
Hope...

The silk Farm is about 18kms from town. We took a tuk tuk there which we would highly recommend, that way you can go when you wish (and avoid the tourist buses). We hired Vanny (vanny,khmer1982@yahoo.com) who speaks excellent English and he also took us to a few other sites on the way back. He is honest and reliable.

This place is my interest one, the farm have full function and facility to show how make Khmer silk and also place provide train skill to locate people around. All should not miss this place.
The visit to the silk process is very interesting. A skillfull guide explain everything in details from the silk bleeding to the weaving.
Although the shop presents very nice decoration in silk the others products are overpriced. Particularly if you wish to buy a clothe try it first the cutting is apparently not their expertise.
Should you want to fit...

If you are in Siem Reap and you did the temples and you want to find something else, i recommend the Silk Farm. A nice relaxed short tour, which will give you an idea how the incredible silk production works, in the past and today.
The National Silk Centre is 16 kilometers west of Siem Reap on Route 6. We really enjoyed the tour through this centre, there is no charge and you have your own personal guide.
The tour starts right from the beginning with the planting of the mulberry trees which are used for raising the silkworms. They feed on these leaves until...

While we love Angkor Wat temples, the Angkor Silk Farm is a close second. My wife who is in the high end home furnishing business was fascinated by seeing how silk was made after working with it for years. We never knew the difference between raw silk and fine silk other then the end products and saw how it is...
