A great place to stop off the interstate. Cleanest restrooms, friendly staff, free spam samples, a great gift shop, and did I mention free spam samples. Plan on spending a couple hours here and there is something for everyone and it is child friendly. It is a well thought out informative place and as fine of a museum anywhere. This... More

On a cross-country trip we made a point of visiting every "roadside attraction" along I-90 and our favorite by far was the Spam Museum. Now I can't stand Spam and would only eat it if I were in imminent danger of starving on a deserted island. However, this was one of the most unique, interesting, and fun museums I've ever... More

This is one of the best corporate museums anywhere. It's candid about a corporate embezzlement that almost put the company under in the early 1900s; it's frank (no pun intended) about the contents of SPAM--healthier than I would have guessed--and it's fun. I liked the conveyor belt of little SPAM cans rattling around above, and I enjoyed the wonderful commercials... More

This is much more interesting that you might think. It's more social hiostory than meat production history. Learn lots about Spam, but not what's in it, or how it's actually made. It's great place for those who like to start a converstation with, "Guess where I've been?" More

My husband exceeded the speed limit to get to the museum before it closed. We didn't have as much time as we would have liked. We were not disappointed. It is a delightful, kid friendly museum. It is well worth the stop More

My wife and I recently toured the Spam Museum and Visitors Center operated by Hormel Foods in Austin, Minnesota. We visited based on advice of friends who toured it about a year ago and enjoyed it, and their advice to go see it was right on. We were there just under two hours total and couldn't believe how quickly the... More

We saw the signs for it on our way to Rochester for a wedding and decided to stop on our way home two days later. SO glad we did. This is fun. I'm not a fan of Spam - I've only had it once in my life. But the museum is delightful. The history of not just Spam, but the... More

Although we were in Austin on business, we had to stop at the SPAM museum, even though we're not big SPAM fans. But what a fun way to spend an hour or so. It's very well-organized, and just plain ol' cute, with tons of information/ trivia about SPAM. And it's FREE, which was a nice, but unexpected bonus. The employees... More

Being from HAWAII, I was raised on Spam! So, when I moved to Minnesota some 4 years ago...I had to make the pilgrimage to Austin. It's so well done, from the parking lot, to the photo-op piggy outside and all the incredible history inside. And, the price is so, so right --- FREE! Since my first visit in 2008, I've... More
