One of the great european squares, dotted with churches, museums, and cafes. There is even an Easter & Christmas market. Its great to see local planning considerations taking in to account the historical importance of the area, meaning that there are no new buildings in the square.
A beautiful square full of tradition and character, for us on a lovely sunny day a place to sit with a drink and watch the world go by.
Piata Mare is a surprisingly large, lovely Square in the Center of Sibiu. It is truly reflective of the Germans would built it. There are a large number of impressive public and private buildings ringing the square. We were impressed by the large number of people enjoying the area during the abnormally hot early September evenings.
A nice stroll around a picturesque square, it's very similar to Krakow. Sibiu is a very clean and pleasant town to visit.
This place is very beautiful in winter when there is the Christmas Fair and you can buy very interesting things, not very cheap but...............once in a year I think you can afford something nice and special.Go there if you are around!
A very beautiful old town square, with original architecture. You will find here The Brukenthal Art Museum, Turnul Sfatului, a good restaurant (La Turn), the City Hall and lots of other atractions.
Depending on the time of the year you are visiting this great city, you will find different activities in the main square...from Christmas fair to plays and concerts.
Placed in the very heart of old town Sibiu, the big square is one beautiful landmark which you should definitely visit.
A great place to soak up the atmosphere of Sibiu both day and night. The square is both a busy thoroughfare and a place to wander. We visited after Christmas when the lights still adorned the buildings and were strung in a beautiful arrangement out from the centre. The evenings came early and were started with plentiful 'vin de fierte'...
