It is a perfect place on the edge of the old city, where you can enjoy your coffee on one of the nice terraces in the sun on in the shadow. The architecture is worth visiting too.
I don't remember there being five wells - I thought there were just three. But it is an attractive place between the Bastion Hotel, with its end incorporating part of the city wall, and the old Arsenal.
We visited the wells in the afternoon and the light was perfect to take good shots. We played with our shadows and with the wells themselves. It is nothing too special, but where else can we see five wells lining up like this? So i'd say it is worth visiting it.
Featuring the Five wells located near the the Land Gate, you could not miss it if you are entering Zadar from train by foot, like what I have did. The Five Wells look ordinary in the day but awesome at night when the lights are on! Best recommended for visiting at night.
lovely walk around the walls very green, clean and pretty with a bar at the top of the walk, season not yet open for about a month should image this place will be very very busy, certainly worth a visit.
So there is nothing spectacular about these wells. The good thing is that they are located at one end of the city so it is easy to see them and convenient to move on to other more interesting sites nearby. They are right next to the Old City Gate so within 10 minutes you can see two of Zadars attractions... More
