We went in mid May and it was a very quiet and peaceful retreat from the cruise ship hoards. There's a small lake in the middle called the Dead Sea which you can swim in and swing around on a rope if you can pull yourself up. Also - there's a ton of peacocks. Definitely worth a day trip as... More

My two grandsons and I took a ferry from Dubrovnik harbor to Lokrum Island with the goal of diving from the rocks and swimming in the Adriatic. The walk to the end of the island was eerie. The tree canopy heavily shading the path, the noise of cicadas ringing in our ears, and peacocks wandering close to us among the... More

Wow we had such an amazing time here, the views were to die for. It was very clean and well maintained. They were lots of peacocks chilling about the place. We had a much needed dip in the lovely lake. So much you can do on this island, go there, it's very cheap and you can spend the whole day... More

Even though there might seem like a lot of people coming across from Old Town by boat, when dispersed you can actually be alone with nature. The toilet near the harbour is good after and before the boat trip. The garden and monastery are marked. The round island tracks are of gravel and without signs. Walked to the beaches marked... More

Lots to see, with long walks all over the island, wild peacocks, and a round fort at the highest point. More

A few minutes on the ferry from the city port and you can be transported from the bustle and heat of the city to this wonderful island with beaches, a lovely cafe with guitarist, fort( challenging uphill walk but fantastic views) restaurant , peacocks on the beach and lovely botanical garden. We returned here as one visit was not enough. Just like other reviewers my wife and I found this magical. Must visits on easy paths are the benedictine ruined monastery, the magic hidden well where you can sunbathe and paddle, quiet inlets -whether rocky or with tree lined avenues, the olive grove, the botanical gardens with all kinds of flora and fauna and trees from different parts of world. All round there... More

Just 15 min ferry ride, you can reach this oasis of somewhat peace from the old port of Dubrovnik. There are a couple of restaurants you can have lunch (cash only) under the mock-orange tree and immerse in its perfume. There is a small salt-water lake for swimming, and a ruined monastery with slightly unwholesome legend of black magics. Peacocks... More

Not for anyone wanting tourist attractions, this Island is incredibly quiet and outstandinly beautiful. Go early as the last boat back to dubrovnik leaves about 6pm. and you aren't allowed to stay on the Island after that. Ideal for a picnic, plenty of shade under the trees, take a swimsuit as there is access down to the sea via steps,... More
