My wife and I just returned from a 4 week stay in Antigua during which we studied Spanish at this school. We have studied Spanish at 5 different schools in 3 different countries and this was definitely the best. They have a very professional staff and a very powerful approach to teaching Spanish. Textbooks are provided. They are flexible and... More

The school is very comfortable and I found the teachers to be very good. I only took 4 hours per day and couldn't do any more than that to my lack of knowledge of Spanish. My teacher for the second week was great and now we send Spanish emails back and forth. The one think that I was disappointed with... More

You may like this school, but I found it very expensive compared to other language schools in the area, without anything extra for expense. The teachers appeared to resent the students and sneer at them behind their backs. If you stay with a family, be aware that the family usually needs the money, and while they will be polite, would... This well-respected and established language learning center truly lived up to its reputation for my daughter and myself. Amy spent two weeks with Irlanda, learning Kaqchikel. They spent time learning the vocabulary and grammar structure which gave Amy a great basis to continue forward. I spent my time with Ana Mercedes Saravia Toledo who was one of the best teachers... My dad went to PLFM 10 years ago. He went back a few years ago with his wife, who wanted to improve her spanish. Both loved it and learned a lot. He suggested that I go to PLFM when I started my Central American backpacking trip. (Trip Advisor wasn't around ten years ago, or I would have written a review... More

This school really cares and is not as much of a cookie-cutter as the other schools. They also will go out of their way to insure you learn spanish!
