Elizabeth Bell walked us through history, not only of this colonial treasure of a city, but through many years of struggle and victory of Guatemalan people. She herself is a treasure trove in her decades of involvement in restoration and growth as a North American, soon to be a dual citizen in her adopted country. Her 4 hour tour is... More

I bring all of my customers to Elizabeths guides to do the private walking tours because they are very informative and my customers always thank me for suggesting the tour. The tour takes about 3 hours and cost about $25 plus tip. More

Elizabeth Bell's company offers an afternoon villages tour. What is advertised is a village not much affected by tourism, a famous chapel and analysis of the different styles of colonial architecture and a tour of a village famous for its tradtional backstrap weaving. The tour of the village not affected by tourism consisted of looking at some fruit women were... More

We noticed an advertisement for a cultural walking tour of Antigua in a local magazine. It said to show up at the central park at 9:00 a.m. We got there and met Elizabeth Bell, the tour leader and also author of a wonderful book about Antigua which I had previously read. There were about a dozen people on our walking... More

I would have to agree with the last review that it didn't live up to its hype. There were at least 25 in our city tour...far too many. I would not have signed up if I had known. We only saw a few sites and I would have liked to have seen a lot more in 3 hours. They are... More

I'm surprised that this tour is so far down on the list of attractions. It looks like it just doesn't have a lot of reviews. I did the tour with Elizabeth Bell in 2009 & 2011. Both times were great. It costs $20 and lasts about 3 hours. Elizabeth is incredibly involved in Antigua's restoration & preservation and her first... More

Part of me wants to be more harsh about this review, because I had read and heard from many sources that Elizabeth's tours were the best in the world. While the place was lovely, the tour was well planned, and Elizabeth was very informative and funny, I was expecting "best in the world" and therefore I was a little disappointed.... More

Okay, fellow gringo tourists, you need to eat the reality sandwich (tamale maybe?) and down the “facts of life” cup of java: there’s no way you can find your way around this town of Antigua even if you are an Eagle Scout compass master or orienteering blue ribbon winner. Got some really great advice from Elizabeth Bell, who led a... More
