A beautiful library, with many volumes of books. I could spend hours reading there. The librarians were welcoming and the library is unique. Well worth a visit.

If you have a library card, you can get a great selection of movies and books, access the internet on numerous laptops. Just a nice place to have access to. They also host various activities in the garden on the side garden. An art show was there when I visited and it was just lovely to stroll through.

The Nantucket Atheneum is the oldest building in downtown, on India Street - and its the town Library! It is a beautifully restored and maintained building. The Antheneum is part of the Cape Cod Library system, so they can get visitors almost any book, DVD or periodical you desire. Though the Atheneum, like most of downtown Nantucket was destroyed by the great fire of 1846, the townspeople rebuilt it true to its history. Today it offers everything from historical volumes, famous speakers, and wifi to people who come to enjoy Nantucket.

This library is a wonderful, historic place to be! Frankly, being there brights me up! The staff are average but very nice and pleasant, and the book collection (i've poked about) is also pretty descent. Would most certainly recommend to anyone.

I ducked into the Atheneum to take advantage of the air conditioning on a hot day and discovered a wonderful library. The size and scope of its collections would be impressive in a town several times the size of Nantucket.

This library appears to be the flagship of the small Nantucket community. Boasting a beautiful park for reading just of the children's wing, even if you are not a reader you should come and enjoy the atmosphere. Inside there are friendly librarians willing to help you find anything or even show you around the stunning old building. Highlights: Nice summer... More

Well, not really if you rate it on books, but this library is an institution in Nantucket and it makes me happy to visit it every year.
