This house is not restored., because it didn't need to be. It was never destroyed. So much of the furnishings are original. The floors are original, the furniture, even some of the landscaping. The guided is well worth your time. It takes an hour. You will see most ofthe house. The internal architectureis worth it.

Many historic houses, both in Annapolis and elsewhere, describe themselves, rather proudly, as being "fully restored." That equates to not original. Such is not the case at Hammond Harwood House (or, as I like to call it, H3). H3 is unique in many respects. For starters, it's all original. Take a tour and look at the floorboards. You'll see that,... More

World class historic site with a small town feel. Wonderful at Christmas time. The house is beautiful simply to see, but the history associated with its builder, former occupants, and architect is especially important. The architecture, art, furniture, and decorative artifacts are very impressive in both substance and number. Should not be missed in any visit to Annapolis and definitely... More

there are so many original items and features of this late 1700 house, it will blow you away! most of the architectural features have remained unchanged, and there are beautiful furniture and paintings of the period. many outstanding examples of furniture maker John Shaw, and paintings by Charles Wilson Peale. the docent-led tour was informative and chatty. a bonus around... I can't really fault much here; it is well worth seeing, as it also includes many items that have "returned home", but if you only had time to visit one historic house, the Paca might be one notch better (but try to visit both of these).

The two unusual, octogonal wings and the elaborate architectural details make this my favorite historic home in Annapolis. A true gem. I have visited twice, and have fallen in love each time. Informative tours, too!

Beautifully restored, privately owned example of a home built in the time of the Revolutionary War. Tour guide was disappointing.

The house was interesting and the tour guides knowledgable. Worth the time to visit, particularly if you enjoy house museums.

Very interesting example of Georgian architecture. Guided tours on the hour, by utterly charming guides. Perfect for people interested in architecture, history and art.
