I love the cave nearby and also the awesome view when you climb to the top of the cliff. It is an awesome view from the above down. It is also easily assessible from San Salvador. Just take the microbus near the Central Mercado, it cost only) 0.25 USD. It is so cheap and economical. Must see and go for... More

It is a little bit of a hike to the top but it is well worth it. A wonderful view. There is also another route up through the rocks that seemed to have promise but I got about half way up a rebar ladder and was standing on a rock in a crevice supported only on the sides. In order... More

Puerta del Diablo is located about 30 to 45 minutos from San Salvador. It is actually a park which has a cliff that legend says was created when the devil ran through a mountain, or something of the such, depending on who you ask. The cliff wall is perfect for rock climbing and it has a canopy tour. Around the... More

The Devils Door. Great. Sounds like a jolly good time. And well, it is! I was absolutely terrified, nothing much to hold on to, a high altitude and steep STEEP steps. But gosh, I am so glad I did it. The view at the top is absolutely beautiful. There's little vendors along the way in which you can by local... More

I remember on my way to La Puerta del Diablo my Aunt telling me about countless men who through a combination of carlessness and alcohol, lost their lives at the Devil's Door. This is according to her how the Devil's Door earned it's name but like most every other story I'm sure it's just a colorful folktale. The view from... More
