Kiev has many great street sculptures. It's especially nice to stumble across them by accident. In winter the Hedgehog is warmed by a scarf - it is a truly loved little monument for the people.

Based, I hear, on the extraordinary short: Hedgehog in the Fog - both are well worth a visit. This little guy is made of nails and in a little park.

Hedgehog in the Fog is a small monument made of nails based on a children's tale and shows that the Ukrainian's do not take themselves too seriously. It is situated down a sidestreet and not a tourist attraction as such, but quite cute.

I have photos of my wife and my daughter along the hedgehog and both of them are great souvenirs from Kiev. Close to the golden gate, SAS hotel, it is an interesting monument to visit. :-)

We stumbled upon this little monument by accident (just happened to be in the area). It brought a lot of nostalgia about little cartoon that featured the main character - the hedgehog lost in the fog. Watch the cartoon first (find it on YouTube).
