If you want to spend few hours and to get a good point of view regarding rural architecture in Romania, also if you want to see the traditional objects that are fillign a romanian house in villages i think this is the best place to be. is a great museum and is worth every single minute you can spend here!

The staff made us feel like we were more of an inconvience. They followed us around staring, never smiled and even rolling their eyes at us. Must of the items didn't have any discreption telling about them the ones that did were only in Romanian. It might have been more interesting if I could have understood what I was looking... More

This is what a museum should be all about, almost a 'living' museum as the display cards mention, not items encased behind glass windows. This is one of the best museums I have seen any where in the 82 countries I have been to. Also, since it is not a conventional museum full of boring, dull renaissance type art, there... More

Maybe if you are a Romanian peasant, you could like this place. Dull, dull material exhibited with no apparent sense of eye appeal. I wish I could have gotten a refund. Skip this and sit in the park north of the museum instead.

Well worth a visit--a much more interesting than the Village Museum. Everything described in detail with a rich historical record of Romania's unique history.

This museum has a very unique way of presenting its exhibits. As other reviewers have already commented, it reminds of an art gallery. In each room, visitors are propvided with sheets containing explanations in Romanian, English, French and German. If you are a fan of historically, precice essays, you might be disappointed; visitors are not only served plain facts, as... More

If you're in Bucharest even for a weekend, you must visit this museum. They organise regular fairs and temporary exhibitions, you can find great hand-made traditional objects at very reasonable prices. The ticket price is below 1 EUR and during fairs, there is no charge. Not all staff speak English / French or German...

i really enjoyed looking round this museum in a spare hour i had. needed another hour though really. there has been a lot of love and care put into this place. i loved the wooden buildings, windmill and especially the school classroom. the downsides were not enough english explanations and i wanted to take ONE photo but was told i... Beautiful building with some nice displays, not interactive for small children to enjoy, couldn't find anything written in english and women who work there were NOT friendly at all.

The best museum in Bucharest, presenting Romanian peasant life & craft more in the style of an art galery. Additional exhibitions give an insight in topics that influenced the Romanian soul. The museum shop as well as the crafts shop in the back of the museum offered a variety of interesting souvenirs
