My wife and I went on our anniversary trip to Peru in April of 2012. It was well worth it. The views were beyond anything I could have imagined. So beautiful! We even took the trip around the back of the mountain to the Inca bridge. Beware: you have to sign in and out of that trail because you can...

An amazing site. It doesn't get much better than this. Well worth the effort to get here.

The architecture is amazing and one can't help but wonder just how the heck those boulders were placed there other than supernatural powers. See it for yourself. Love it and would like to do the Inca Trail next time.

Take the time to enjoy. Prepare to climb many steps. Take a hat and lots of sunscreen. Bring your own water and a snack as the prices for food and water are expectedly high. If not on a tour, look for a scholar tour guide, ie an archeologist....why? Just about anyone can be a certified tour guide, very knowledgeable but...
