A little sad really, no evidence of authenticity that we could see. We found the market at train station at machu picchu much better. Now a complete waste of time may be going to far, but we only had 10 days and I wish I had not gone here and rather spent this time in Lima or Corscu. Do not... More

This was a very busy local market that has become very touristy. I would have enjoyed it more without all the vendors everywhere. Hang on to your purses! More

What a great place to stop for a real authentic experience. Walking through the market and seeing the many different fruits and vegetables they offer is definitely worth the pit stop. You don't need long at all to do as the locals do. More

Do not miss this gem. We enjoyed the market very much and even though we went in the rainy season the vendors are still out there. It is a wonderful little town .stay at least one night if you can, watching the vendors take down their stalls and then carrying off those heavy wooden tables on bikes will make you... More

While waiting for lunch in a restaurant in the Pisac Market, I went onto the balcony to see what was going on outside. The market was alive with people buying, selling & running around. I got a great photo of a women feeding her baby- http://michaelwtravels.blogspot.com/2011/10/lunchtime-at-market-pisac-peru.html More

Its a short bus ride from cusco which locals also use. once you get there its a mix of touristy experience and local feel. While selling their crafts you see the locals enjoy home cooked meal & beer. We tried the corn beer it has a strong taste but its fun sitting with the jumbo tumbler and sipping with the... More

We went on a Friday. We caught a bus from Cusco for less than S/2.50. There were maybe 100 vendor stalls set up in the central plaza, and it wasn't market day. A nice open-air atmosphere. There is a great variety of crafts, but the prices were about the same as what we found in Cusco. There are SO many... More

I went to the market this past Sunday with my tour guide. There are some beautiful and interesting things in the touristic market but there's a lot of variation in the quality and the prices. So look around before you buy. And don't expect that the vendors will always be telling you the truth about their wares. They want to... More

During a nearly month long trip through Peru, I looked for skeins of alpaca yarn at public markets as well as in regular stores that sell knitted garments made of sheep and alpaca wool. The Pisac market was one of the best we visited and it was the only one in southern Peru where we found a number of vendors... More
