With many dozens of visits to this large park during the day, we've never seen/heard of any security problems. An amazing, huge park that's perfect for hiking, running, mountain biking along eucalyptus lined trails--some quite steep.
There are also families playing soccer and super fun playgrounds with all kinds of crazy stuff that you will never see in the states because it might not be perfectly 'safe' (like screaming ziplines). Plus a herd of llamas and a cow here...

You can hike for hour, jogg, biking, it is the best place to o if you want some fresh and pure air.
