On a clear day you can see almost all of Quito and it's surrounding peaks. We climbed both the clock tower and bell tower. If you are afraid of heights I wouldn't recommend doing this but if not the effort is well worth it! More

Of all of the churches in The old part of Quito, thisnis the one I would visit last. Wile the outside is interesting, it totally lacks the interior grandeur of the old churches in the centre historico. More

If you like clambering on ladders, ceilings, inside vaults, etc . . . you will NEVER get a church experience like this. 2 hours spent climbing around getting views of the city, inside the clock tower, closeups of the windows and gargoyles and bells . . . make sure you go to the charming coffee shop if for nothing else,... We went to the top of the tower for the view. It was amazing, but scary. More

If you feel like a challenge and want a great view of the City, climb to the top of the clock tower. It is a little scary as the climb is quite steep and they don't have all the safety precautions in place like you would expect in North America, but then again this isn't North America. The cost is... More

Yes it might be one of the youngest churches in and around the Old City, but it is fun to walk up and down the ladders to the towers. Not nearly as frightening as it sounded in my guide books. It's funny how much of it is either still under construction or unergoing major maintenance when it's not even 100... More

We walked to the Basilica from San Francisco Plaza and I'm not sure if it was because of the altitude but the climb and the steep streets took a bit out of us. We didn't get to go in to the church and could only look from outside in. The structure was amazing and from there you see the city... More
