Unlike skiing in north america, you will be above the tree line and have large open spaces to ski. It is a wonderful setting. Try all three of the local hills (la Parva, Valle Nevado and El Colorado). I would do one day at each though, as the multi-pass is really not worth the extra price.

Very family oriented and for beginner skiiers. Close to La Parva and Valle Nevado for other choices. Easy go up for the day to ski from Santiago.

When Caliornia is soak in 100 deg. heat. The chance to snow ski on 3000M mountain is priceless.
Santiago has excellent transportation system. Metro,bus or taxi will reach "ski total" and $16.00 will take you up to the resort.
Every equipment and cloths can be rented there.
No need to stay at the hotels near resort.

My husband, 3 kids (1, 8 and 14) and I just came back from a weekend at the Apart Hotel El Colorado, located at the El Colorado Ski resort and we loved it so much we are planning to go back next weekend. Its right on the snow so you can ski from your room door. The place is simple...
