It was a great ride up to the top of the hill in a very old tram. The view was fantastic, we were lucky to have a clear afternoon. On the way uo is the zoo. We did not gothere this time but it is worth a visit.

I would love to visit on a clear day but those seem to be few. I still am glad I went up, take the funicular it's cheap and easy.

Beautiful views. If you can go up 30 min before sunset you will get the daylight views, the beautiful sunset views, and then be able to see the city lights.

The train trip up on the old funicular railway - or a stiff walk if you are up to it - and the view from the top. Try to get a non smoggy day if possible!
Queues can get long for the railway on weekends and holidays so try to get there early or be ready to wait.

Pick a nice clear day to take the funicular up to the top of Cerro San Cristobal and you will be rewarded with a beautiful view of Santiago. However, there are not many nice clear days, we got some hazy smog the day we went but it was not too bad.
