We take horse rides into the nearby Andes, usually small groups or individuals on customised tours. We offer 1 day rides with lunch, longer rides camping in the mountains and family rides. We give very personal attention; all rides are customised, tailor-made. We have excellent quality horses and guides. « less

My day in the mountains with Leo was absolutely blissful. We were comfortable in our silence but for the sounds of the river, the wind, the horses hooves. It was more than I had hoped for as foreign cities have begun to lose their individuality, but landscapes, nature, maintain freshness and character. The horses carried us confidently up and down... Our family, 2 adults and 2 kids aged 6 and 12, had a fantastic day riding in Chile. Transportation to and from the Cajon was sorted for us. We do not ride so were a bit anxious but were given excellent instructions prior to setting off and the horses were superbly trained - we only had to sit on them... More

a very unique yet scary experience...if you are afraid of heights don't do it..make sure they give you a helmet as the terrain is rocky and if you fall could be fatal! although the horses are mountain horses and know the rough terrain well this is not for the weak..be prepared to look down about 2000 feet to 4000feet altitude... Thank you for your review of our horse riding trip, and I take your point about helmets. I feel the same but it has been so contrary to all practice in Chile until very recently that we felt awkward doing it. However, everyone is getting more safety conscious here now and it is becoming possible to buy helmets in Chile,... More

I am on a business trip in Santiago, and had a weekend free. I decided to take a horse riding tour through the lower Andes near Santiago, and booked a trip with this company. They organised transport from my hotel to the Cajon de Maipo, and put me on a horse which suited my abilities. The guides were very experienced... More

I did the single day excursion from near Banos Morales to the El Morado glacier. Clouds and mist on the ride up obscured the high mountains and created a spooky, ethereal atmosphere. The sturdy little horses were confident and nimble on the rocky paths. I do not ride much and found the route enjoyable and not overly challenging. My horse... More

This was an amazing trip. We wanted to go up into the high Andes but couldn't face walking in the strong sun, so went by horse... we camped for 4 nights up in the mountains and it was incredible, like a different world. We were very well looked after by Rigo and his sons, who not only made sure we... More

We did the day ride had a wonderful time. The trail at times are very small but the views are breath taking. The horses are very well taken care of. We stopped near a pond for lunch. The lunch consisted of a ham and cheese sandwich, with avocado which was excellent. Beer or soda to drink. Everyone was very helpful.... More

Although I do know how to ride it isn't essential as the horses are well trained, saddles comfortable and the pace, because of the Andean gradients, is slow. The landscape is monumental and at times unbelievably so. The camping is well organised. The stars including the rising Southern Cross and vast densisty of the Milky Way are worth the trip... More
