We rented the portable headphones that offer information at every display in English or other languages. Rental in inexpensive. We would have missed so much additional and valuable information without the headsets. We made the assumption that we spent an hour at the museum when actually 3 hours had passed by quickly. Exterior has a monument of chairs covered with... More

This is a new museum, and it is laid out well. There is a clear progression in time as you move through the space and floors. Entrance is free and you get a book explaining the various areas. There is very little English which is a shame for non-Spanish visitors. This made it difficult to fully appreciate much of what... More

If you come to Chile and don't vist this museum, you can't say you were here. It's a review about the dictator Pinochet and all the people that was persecuted and killed. A must to do.

It was a very wet afternoon so we headed to the museum. Wasn't sure what to expect but this is a really interesting museum. I had no idea of what happened in 1973 and afterwards in the Pinochet years. Maybe not one for the kids but most adults and teenagers should enjoy this, albeit that it's fascinating from an "unbelieveable"... More

We should see the record of human rights violation and remember that it still goes on around the globe. But what is amazing here is the way the museum brings the sacrifice and the bravery of Chileans alive. I was very moved.

A visit to the human rights museum will leave you with an in-depth understanding of Chile's turbulent social and political history. While 90% of exhibits are in Spanish only, there are video exhibits you can watch. Even if you don't speak Spanish, what you see on screen is moving and very educational. Entrance to the museum is free so try... More

This museum chronicles the military coup and dictatorship, focusing on human rights abuses and protests. It is worth visiting and the contents are very worth knowing, but it's not a great museum. To those on this forum who think it's biased, that's just not so. The museum doesn't take a stance on the policy of Allende or Pinochet. There is... More

A great way to learn more about a dark period in Chile's history. The exhibits are interesting, educational, and very moving. I recommend getting the recorded explanation of the exhibits if you do not speak Spanish.

Not every display has English translations but there was enough for me and my pidgin Spanish to take in. Really interesting to learn more about Chile's history. Great mix of real video testimonials, historical sources and significant artefacts. Make sure you go!
