This museum has small display and a research library upstairs. There is also a room where they sell Mapuche crafts and products. But all signs are in Spanish only. We would have liked to learn more about the Mapuche but our Spanish isn't good enough to translate these signs. It looked like they were enlarging the museum, there was construction...

This is a museum that has very little in it, but that should be very important to the Chilean people to remind them of the inhabitants of their country before the Europeans chased out all the Indians. This extensive collection of Mapuche jewelry, masks, statues is phenomenal. Represents 5 generations, originally from Germany, who have collected Mapuche items through the years. Rivals any museum. need to call for personal tour: Rodrigo Ulloa Metzger at [--].
