As part of our independently organised holiday here we thought it might be interesting to travel by train from Singapore to KL and then onwards to Penang via Butterworth, a nice change from airport and flights. However we hadn’t reckoned with Keratapi Tanah Melayu (KTM), the Malaysian Railway Company, who soon put paid to our idea of exotic adventure.
