This site blows you away. The sheer size of Prambanan is incredible and the knowledge that it was built so very long ago when modern day tools were not available makes you wonder how on earth they were able to build such a huge and intricate structure. More

Must see. only 15mins away from Sheraton. As well as main Prambanan site, got to see Ratu Boko too....stay for sunset. During some months, you can see Ramayan play with Prambanan as the backdrop. We did not going during this season, but would like to return and see that More

This temple is about 30 mins from Malioboro Street area. If you want a private car/taxi, hire one from Malioboro street and negotiate a price round trip (driver waits for you). This is more economical than booking through your hotel. There are a lot of domestic tourists and students visiting, but the temples are still beautiful. Be sure to take... More

The immense construction is overwhelming to look at. Unfortunately earthquakes and vandalism has taken its toll. Restoration work is ongoing though. More

Prambanan is a little more spacious than Borobudur. The stone work isn't as fine as you'll see in India or Cambodia, but still an impressive place. I'm sure more figures have 'gone' from the site since I last visited 14 years ago... we'll worth the entry fee More

I visited this sight after spending time in Bali (with much newer hindu temples) and after viewing Borobudur. I agree that this sight isn't quite as spectacular as Borobudur, but having not seen Angkor Wat or any other asian temples, I was quite impressed. We didn't have a guide, so were left with just the information in Lonely Planet to... More

Try to engage a local guide to gain better understanding about the temple or at least go to the Audio/Visio gallery for their presentation. More
