Lots of ferries and shipping but definately a harbour like a lot of others in the world. The Star Ferries are a sight in their multi-coloured livery and the skylines are impressive but nothing really exotic or unique

Although the harbour is busy, but it is very safe. Have a look via Star Ferry, can enjoy a whole city view. The fee is not expensive, lower deck - Star Ferry USD 0.4 Tsim Sha Tsui to Central
Definitely worth taking a long stroll along Victoria Harbour at night. You can see the HK skyline, as well as the red-lighted junks ferrying people across. Nice place for relaxing or taking spectacular photos.
This is a must on a visit to Hong Kong. Take the Star ferry and see the skyline. Great mix of the old and new.
We were staying in Kowloon traveled on the star ferry like a bus. We also did the harbor tour which was very interesting because the commentary told us all about the buildings on the water front. A 'must' experience for a visit to Hong Kong.
Visiting this via walking through Avenue of the Stars (this method of visit is free, for sure), this area is a must visit in HK since it delivers beautiful city lights combined with urban seaside view and several boats pass by so often. For your consideration, you should pick the day with good or clear weather and wait until sunset,...

The view of the city's skyline from Victoria Harbour is amazing. If you come at night be prepared to be amazed by the world most beautiful city nightview
Getting there was an experience. Roads were full of traffic. No different than NYC on a busy morning. Plan on staying at least two hours to view everything. If you have a long lens on your camera this would be beneficial.
Even though it has become more crowded over the years I think this is one of the worlds top cities and man made destinations. I have been coming to Hong Kong for 14 years and I am still amazed every time I visit.
