Enjoy a pleasant ferry ride to this fishing village-- but be aware there is a huge energy plant on the far side of the island. You don't really see it until your near the harbor or up on the hike from one town to the other. The nice things is that both towns have ferries leaving frequently! Tasty fish restaurants... More

Everyone goes to Hong Kong Island. Most people go to Kowloon. But Lantau has plenty to see, do and eat for better prices. The MTR and Airport Express can get you there in minutes, and if you go round trip on the same day, you only pay for one way on the Airport Express. Besides Disneyland and the airport, Lantau... Take the ferry to Mui Wo and then go my bus from Mui Wo you get to see the country side. You can go to Big Budda or Tai O Village. It is very reasonable prices but you need the correct money on the bus or an octopus card You can also take a cable car from Big Budda to... More

It was a nice change from the congested busy Hong Kong life. Our plan was to try different modes of transports, MTR, Cable Car Ride, Bus Ride down to the Ferry station, Ferry back to Hong Kong Island. Took the MTR to go to Tung Chung. Get tickets from the ticket office at the Ngong Ping cable car station. Took... More

A great place to shop, experience a different facet of Hong Kong and seeing the Big Buddha and the pink dolphins at Tai O Village were undoubtedly the highlights.

On Lantau Island is a large Buddha. You can go by cable car. This was very cool. When you reach the top, you have to walk a bit. Then you see the huge standing Buddha. This is very nice. You can make beautiful photos of it.

Other than the airport, not strictly on Lantau but Ckek Lap Kok island, we made two trips to Lantau, Disney and the fantastic Skyrail, the longest cable car in the world, to the Big Buddha. Take the MRT to Tung Chung on Lantau and make the short walk on the covered raised walkway to the Skyrail station. It seems quite... More

If you go to HK especially with kids, do plan a trip to lantau island. The cable car ride was great fun and the view from the top with the Buddha statue was breathtaking

The ferry over to Lantau is very nice and highly recommended! Took around 1 hour. The Biddha is awesome and well worth a visit, and the little village is very nice. The Crystal Cabin down is such a cool experience as well!

if you want to go here, please go early in the morning before 4.30pm. I love taking the bus up rather than the cable car
